Battle For The Youth

Battle for the youth:  “I have a dream to become. I want to be a professional with soft cheeks, neatly dressed with   stilettos and sitting in a corner office. I want to be good lawyer. I want to know, to speak and be recognized. I want to be phenomenal.”  These are the words Njoki recited in her mind as she walked through the gates of Maono University on the 2nd of September 2023. Njoki was ambitious and ignited that if we were to date back in historical times, this was definitely her period of renaissance. She wanted to know and her mind pen ready to pen and highlight in red the great knowledge hidden within the walls of this greatly desired place called the ‘university’. The great mysteries hidden in the minds of spectacled professors and fellow unique, brilliant students. What a place!  I give credence to the words of Ernest Agyemang when he says that if people institute wrong institutions, wrong institutions do not

Christian Student Devotion

A Christian student's devotion to the Lord is evident in their attitude, approach, and love for God's Word. Expressing love for the Lord involves keeping and obeying His Word, and in return, Jesus promises to reveal more of His love, mercy, grace, and peace to those who do so (John 14:21). So, what is the purpose of the Bible? God has given it to us so that we might not only learn its teachings but also put them into practice.   Engaging with the Word of God has two significant effects on us.  Firstly, it causes us to grow spiritually. Just as physical growth is a process, so is spiritual growth.  Peter compares it to desiring the pure milk of the Word as newborn babies to grow (1 Peter 2:2). God has provided a means fo

In The Potters Hand

IN THE POTTER'S HAND Have you ever thought of an uncultivated land? What about a piece of wood? What about a piece of clay? When an ordinary person  takes hold of a pencil and a piece of paper, those are just but ordinary things to him. But in the hands of an artist, they are instruments that can be turned to be of great value. The gardener, the potter and the craftsman produces something desirable out of what seemed nothing.   And so it is the story of a campus student. People who carry great potential. What will I compare them to? A piece of wood, or the artist's tolls, or that uncultivated land, that has great potential. What matters is the hands in which they will fall in. Potential is described as existing in possibility, not in actuality. It is the currently unrealized ability. In it’s ideal state potential is not helpful potential therefore is useful when realized and actualized. But then not every person and every place that is suitable towards this. I speak as one
